OUR PEOPLE. OUR PURPOSE. OUR COMMUNITY.Mzwandile Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Inanda, Durban, with a physical address in Phoenix. Its work brings together five areas of community support: learners, older citizens, people living with chronic conditions, people seeking recovery from drug use, and teenage girls who need health education.
These needs may look different, but they share something important: people need practical help and someone willing to listen. The foundation’s focus is to respond to the person, rather than assume every household needs the same thing.
For one learner, help may be a uniform. For an older neighbour, it may be food or assistance collecting medicine. For someone seeking recovery, the important next step may be connecting with professional medical care.
Support is shaped by individual circumstances and available resources. The foundation is seeking partners who can strengthen this work through food, practical assistance, education and qualified professional involvement.
“Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu” expresses the belief at the heart of the foundation: our lives are connected. Offering support means recognising the person behind a need, respecting their choices and treating them with care.
We want participation to feel human and approachable. Whether you can offer a small contribution, professional expertise or a little time, a conversation is the starting point.
Look beyond the immediate need.
See the person and the possibilities.
Five areas of focus.
One commitment to human dignity.
